An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! But where can we find that ounce of potion for immortality?

Our goal in life is to be healthy, enjoy life and stay away from the stress. However, in reality many of us are far away from our goal. More than 2/3 of people suffer from heart problems, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease or some other chronic disorder. Our environment has much to do with these problems. Regardless of our lifestyle, profession, eating habits or geographic location, toxins keeps accumulating in our bodies. Toxins from automobile emissions, industrial chemicals, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides are present everywhere in our environment. Chemicals in our food and water worsen the problem. They build up over time, like a snowball rolling down a hill. No single snowflake is the cause of the snowball, but with each flake the snowball gets bigger and bigger.

Many of these chemicals mimic hormones in our body and interfere with our endocrine system. Once absorbed by the body, they attack cells, distort the cell’s proper functioning, and refuse to get out of our system.
Recently a few methods have been developed that introduce other fat-soluble compounds into the system to remove these toxins. Many times, these compounds themselves become toxic or cause serious adverse effects.

Ayurveda, a 5000-year-old practice of health has described the rejuvenation procedure, Panchakarma that subtly removes the toxins from the mind and body. These procedures are designed to function synergistically to maximize the removal of toxins while maintaining the harmony of natural body functions. The purifying and eliminating actions of Panchakarma first dislodge the toxins from the cells and then flush them out through the organs of elimination—the sweat glands, colon and urinary tract.

Panchakarma procedures have been tried successfully around the world and even show promising results in clinical trials. Many studies show increase in energy, appetite, and mental tranquility and decrease in diastolic blood pressure, blood cholesterol as well as chronic pain and stress.

There are many positive testimonials from cancer patients who have tried Panchakarma. Many of them needed smaller doses of chemotherapy and experienced fewer side effects. The blood count improved quicker than patients who did not do Panchakarma.

During Panchakarma, the focus is not on particular disease. All diseases have a common cause that is imbalance in the body, many times due to the accumulation of toxins. Removing the toxins naturally, by Panchakarma, is an ounce of Potion for Longevity!

Panchakarma can be successfully used as preventive measure in conditions like heart problems, cancer, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, arthritis, MS, allergies, asthma, Depression, stress, insomnia, anxiety, ADD, SAD, digestive disorders, and many more.

Panchakarma in essence

Panchakarma literally means “five therapeutic procedures” to purify the Mind/Body. It is a series of steps performed for 5-7 days, tailored to different body constitutions. It involves three stages, Purva Karma, Pradhan Karma, and Paschat Karma.

In Purva Karma the toxins are loosened from various tissues and mobilized towards the digestive system. Pradhan Karma is when the toxins are removed from the body. Paschat karma is a series of regulations to be followed after Panchakarma.

Panchakarma therapies (Purva and Pradhan karma) include the following,

Abhyanga, an oil massage performed by a technician or by two technicians with synchronizing movements. During this step, whole body, from head to toes is massaged with herbal oil. Oil is also taken internally. The massage oil and oral oil help to loosen all the toxins in seven tissue layers.
